The Great Loop is an exciting 6,000-mile waterway system that offers recreational boaters a unique journey around the eastern United States and parts of Canada. This extensive route includes beautiful locations such as the Atlantic and Gulf Intracoastal Waterways, the Great Lakes, the Erie Canal, the Mississippi and Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, as well as the New York State Canals and Canadian Canals. Completing the Great Loop can take about a year, but many adventurers prefer to break their trip into multiple seasons to fully appreciate the stunning sights and connect with local communities along the way. While the fastest recorded time to finish the loop is just three months, most boaters enjoy a leisurely pace to soak in the experiences and create lasting memories on their journey.
