By now, most of our boating members are probably aware that Docks Out Weekend is coming up fast. This year, Docks Out will take place on October 17th and 18th.
All boats must be removed from the docks by the end of Tuesday, October 13th. This is important so that our work crews can begin preparing the docks for removal.
Preparatory work will begin on Wednesday, October 14th. This will include disconnecting water and electrical services, removing and storing fire extinguishers, lights and life rings, getting equipment into place, and taking care of the many other tasks necessary before the docks can be removed.
While members have been assigned to crews for the actual dock removal on Docks Out Saturday, there is plenty of other work that needs to be completed around the Club. We will be winterizing the Dockmaster’s building, putting away outdoor furniture, preparing the grounds for winter, deep cleaning the Clubhouse, and completing other end-of-season projects.
Attendance at Docks Out is mandatory for all boating members unless excused by the Commodore. We appreciate everyone pitching in and helping us get the Club ready for the winter season.
More information about Docks Out Weekend will be forthcoming as we get closer to the date.
As a final reminder, our work year ends on November 30th.
